Yes, I know what’s on your mind, ‘What the hell is that Guy Lloyd up to?’ Well, thanks for asking and here I am to explain. On the radio front, we’ve had some great guests of late, including the always entertaining and slightly cheeky Will Young, new artist Emeli Sande, who has written one of the songs of the year, with ‘Heaven,’ and we have the Freemasons popping in tomorrow to talk about Shakedown Festival taking place at Stanmer Park in September.
I started my new job for Brighton and Hove Albion F.C on Saturday at the wonderful new Amex Stadium. I was hosting the corporate section in the East Stand and have to say the highlight for me personally was the ‘Albion pie.’ Available in three different flavours, this was the talk of the town on Saturday and not Albion’s new summer signings. Yes, Spurs did win but I’ve promised my bosses not to go on about it. Nice away kit though; and that Lennon still goes like a rocket eh? How do I think we’ll get on this season? Look, can we leave it there please? Top four, now you ask.
I’ve wrapped up two documentary’s with Latest TV in a series called, ‘Guy does..’ The basic premise being that I spend a day with someone of interest and annoy them until they ask me to leave. The first one, with former model and TV presenter, Annabel Giles is done and is being edited as we speak and the second, a day with The Hoosiers should be available to view in the next couple of weeks. We’ve just confirmed our third subject; a well known comedian and we’ll announce that as soon as we’ve tied him up, gagged him and forced a camera in his face for a day. You know the old saying; ‘it’s never in the can, until you kidnap them.’
I’ve also been hosting a load of stand up gigs around town for www.filthygigdog.com and I’ve loved it. This has included hurling abuse at people from Hove at CULT comedy at the Foragers and having a balloon party with the good people of the Hanover Comedy Club.
Looking ahead, I’m putting on a charity night in aid of a good friend and the MS Society at Concorde 2 in September and I’ve just been asked to host the Snowman Spectacular at the Hilton Metropole for Chestnut Treehouse in December.
Lots to look forward to but for now I have to go and get on with more important things; like explaining to my son, why the original Hulk (Lou Ferringo) is better than the recent film version (CGI nonsense).
Kids need educating and I’m here to do it.
